Premier League Predictions: Match Day 21

After taking Christmas off and having to wait for that pesky FA Cup 3rd round to finish Premier League Predictions are back ladies and gentlemen. Chelsea still find themselves top of the league but the chasing pack are closing in as we are now over the halfway mark of the season. A couple of teams down the bottom have changed manager in a bid to drag themselves out of the relegation zone. Of course we are also in the middle of the occasionally exciting January transfer window. Before we go on a follow on twitter @cameroneyles would be great and click HERE to visit the homepage of my blog One Game at a Time. Anyway on with the predicting.

Tottenham v West Brom

The Baggies have been having a great season so far and could be on course to finish around 8th however I can’t see them beating Spurs here. Tottenham are unbeaten at home this season and they were absolutely magnificent against Chelsea last time out, finally breaking the winning run the blues were on. Spurs to win here.

Prediction: 2-0

Burnley v Southampton

Saints might be a bit tired from their EFL Cup semi-final against Liverpool so this match will be tough for them. Added to this that Burnley have an excellent home record then this one will be a tough one for the team from the South Coast. I’m going to back them to get a point from this game though.

Prediction: 0-0

Hull City v Bournemouth

Its really hard to tell just how well Marco Silva and Hull are going to do, their manager is such an unknown quantity in England. We all know what Eddie Howe is about and he will be going for the win here however I think Hull might still manage to get themselves a point here.

Prediction: 1-1

Sunderland v Stoke

Sunderland have been hit hard by a lack of transfer funds, a lack of fit players and the African Cup of Nations further weakening their squad. It’ll be tough for the Black Cats in this one and I reckon Stoke will produce a Joe Allen inspired away win.

Prediction: 0-1

Swansea City v Arsenal

The Gunners have had a few shaky performances in recent weeks but having said that they should still get past Swansea and their new manager Paul Clement. It’s hard to know whether Clement is ready for the step up to the Premier League but I think his squad currently isn’t good enough to stay up.

Prediction: 1-2

Watford v Middlesbrough

The Hornets have been on really poor form recently and I’m not exactly sure that signing Tom Cleverly on loan is the answer to all their problems. Boro have been solid defensively all season but need a couple of extra attackers to ensure survival. I’ll go for a draw here, the teams are fairly evenly matched.

Prediction: 1-1

West Ham v Crystal Palace

Big Sam returns to West Ham this weekend, although the stadium’s changed quite a bit since he was last there. Palace have yet to pick up a win since Sam has taken over and a trip to a former club seems to have 3 points written all over it. The Hammers seems to be facing a bit of crisis with star player Dimitri Payet who wants to leave, but bizarrely isn’t for sale. Regardless I’m going for a mad game that ends in a draw.

Prediction: 2-2

Leicester City v Chelsea

Chelsea need a win to show that the loss at Spurs was nothing more than a blip and I’m back them to do it. The Foxes have been all over the place this season and while I don’t see them getting relegated I’m sure their fans were hoping for at least a top half finish.

Prediction: 0-1

Everton v Manchester City

City may have finally found a system for them that works at West Ham as they played a 4-4-2 diamond to great effect smashing the Hammers. Everton have been very inconsistent this season and I think City will take advantage of that here.

Prediction: 0-2

Manchester United v Liverpool

These two had a very dull match earlier in the season as Mourhino parked the bus at Anfield and to be fair to him it did work. I’m sure he’ll have much more of a go at Liverpool this time around but I really cannot separate these two teams so I’ll go for anaother low scoring draw.

Prediction: 1-1
